I'm surpirsed no one else has commented on the glorious assortment of warm buns as the men horsed around in the jacuzzi. Oh, if only just one had turned around!

Lindsay Anderson was himself homosexual, and most of his films have similiar homo-erotic scenes.

Boy that's certainly the truth - My mouth dropped open when I saw the naked scenes...I missed the first part of the film but the locker room scene definitely got my attention!

I'm a bit suprised there isn't any "gay sub-text" discussion thread for this movie. Couldn't you make the argument that Frank was, like, a homosexual but he didn't know it? What was the deal with that "Dad" character, anyway?

No, I'm not making the argument that there's a gay sub-text to this movie, because I don't believe there is.

But surely somebody else will make that argument soon enough ...

I wondered if we were supposed to think the "Dad" character was in love with him. Then it seemed obvious to me that Weaver is gay and that's why his wife isn't worried about cheating on him. Plus he put his hand on Frank's knee.

When Rahm Emmanuel was running for mayor of Chicago, some other congressional rep mention that he had confronted him in the locker room naked, so some blogger mentioned it and included a clip of this film with the caption, "typical day at the office for Rahm". I wish I could find it again.

Well I've finally seen it. I guess I didn't like it as much as you but I still enjoyed the gay horseplay between men. I wish there was more of it in the movie. I definitely enjoyed those scenes.
