Three thing that would have made the film better (for me)

First of,I've found most of Kurosawa's to be flawless (I've also seen Seven Samurai, Ran, Throne of blood,Yojimbo,Rashomon and Red Beard)
In this film what would've been awesome if the nightclub scene was more realistic -It failed to successfully capture the claustrophobic feel intended) i.e It just looked like a huge bunch of people crammed in together moving and twisting their bodies. Secondly, I wish the the stake out scenes moved a bit faster in terms of pace(I know that will make it sound like I got ADD or something but it would make it look more exiting). Thirdly - The movie looses focus a bit when the whole kidnapping and Mifune's consequent predicament gets replaced by the whole 'villain as a drug lord' aspect of the film - and i wish the villain's character was explored a bit more (though it added to his mystique)
Lastly, I wish Mifune played a larger role - not really a complaint as such, just idle fantasy.
