Rather have a daughter be a prude than a ho

The "outfits", "dancing", and behavior of young women role models (in music, at least) now are what used to be found in porno films. I'd rather have a daughter who was a little too proper than one who runs around talking about "hooking up" (means sleeping with a bunch of guys so that it is not even as respectful as a handshake.)

Every new year somebody comes up with another way to exhibit shocking behavior so that they will get publicity, a reality show, modeling contracts, book deals (writing children's books probably).

I was very sad to read a story the other day that they had to re-do the iconic image of Little Miss Coppertone (the one with the dog pulling her bathingsuit down so her little white bottom partially showed) because to many, it was suitable for pedophiles. That's how far we've come in liberation - the innocence of a child's bottom immediately calls to mind the perverts in society.

Yes, this movie is dated in the way it talks about young women's behavior, but it's not as out of touch with appropriate behavior as the real thing these days.

You took the words right out of my mouth Pretoria. I couldn't agree more.

Don't lay the blame entirely on the women. Men have always encouraged it and somehow woman do get ahead by acting the way you're complaining they do.

That's exactly why the blame does lie with the woman. As you said, the men always encourage it so there should be a counterbalance; a ying to their yang or vice versa. In my opinion, life works best when there's balance and contrast. It's how we were designed and how things work.

We're not the same as men and they're not us. That's a good things. It's a perfectly designed system in which we are a complement to each other, not a duplicate. That system has managed to work since, well, since the beginning, forever. Why do we feel the need to tamper with it now? It's craziness.

I agree with the OP's comments. So many things seem to have gotten completely out of control and just when it seems they can't possibly get any worse; somehow they do. I may be in the minority but I don't think we're moving in the right direction at all.

Woman, man! That's the way it should be Tarzan. [Tarzan and his mate]
