I really wanted to know who Arthur's real parents were

and how he ended up with this specific foster family.

A STATEMENT IS IRRELEVANT UNLESS IT IS WRITTEN IN CAPS LOCK

Well according to one of the King Arthur stories. King Urther (the deceased King) and a woman who already had a husband (who got killed when Uther disgused as the woman's husband was seducing her) Merlin took him away and gave him to the Sir Ector

Arthur was the son of king Uther and Lady Igraine. But as the story behind his conception is pretty nasty (Uther asked for Merlin's help through magic, so he could sleep with another man's wife), that was never explained in the Disney movie, where Arthur is simply refered to as an orphan.

Intelligence and purity.

I think Disney had another reason for leaving out who Arthurs father was, because if they really wanted to keep it in they would have just changed the details of Arthurs conception (just like Disney leaves out and changes a lot of the nasty things in a lot of fairy tales) Disney isn't afraid to deviate from canon when it suits them.. they could have just made it so that his mother was legitimately married to the King and she later died or something .

NO, if they wanted to establish that Arthur was the King son they would have done it, the reason they didn't is because it would have undercut the message they were trying to send that anybody, even the most seemingly insignificant amongst you can achieve greatness, if you put your mind to it. Saying his father was the King would have turned it into 'Arthur pulled the sword because he was the Kings Son so of course he was destined for the thrown'...rather then 'Arthur pulled the sword because he alone was worthy of it, and not because of blood but because of his humility and his good heart'.

In many ways I've always prefered the Disney version the best (even as a kid) because Arthur was presented as some insignificant nobody, an orphan with no noble blood whom everyone laughs at and Sir Ector and Kay mock and put to work as a servant....yet he is the one chosen by fate to be King. It makes it more of a Cinderella, underdog story and I've always liked that...but that's just my opinion.
