What on earth did Eileen see in her fiance?

What on earth did Eileen see in her fiance? The guy was rude, snarky, obnoxious, judgmental...no wonder she had doubts about sleeping with him! He didn't get much screen time, but when he was on screen, I was wincing. Ugh...

I didn't think of that. So then deep down she probably already knew he wasn't right for her. She may have been trying to convince herself that things like his success and "athleticism" made him an ideal mate.

Mag, Darling, you're being a bore.

I watched the movie a couple of times recently, and she said to Mike something about how getting intimate with her sweetheart didn't seem right. I forget the exact wording, but she sounded like she had doubts about that guy in general.

Her brother said something about wanting to have a rich brother-in-law. Maybe, without realizing it, she was hanging onto Russ Wilson in order to please her brother.

It just occurred to me that Adam was a hypocrite about something other than his sister's pre-marital sex issues. When his sister told him that Russ was pressuring her into sex, he gave her a bit of a lecture, but didn't say anything against Russ. He was even civil to Russ when he met him. Meanwhile, when he found out that Mike and his sister had been in their robes, he really got after Mike and hit him. Adam was quick to treat Russ like some sort of god (even though the guy was an absolute loser), while he dismissed Mike as a second-rate citizen. He must have had money on his mind the entire time...
