Great movie!!!

This was a great movie, but what movie starring Steve McQueen isn't? And the acting talents of Tuesday Weld and Jackie Gleason should not be ignored either.
Great but strange movie, a full of life type of movie.
And what great fight scenes!!!
This is one to see again and again!

Judging by the dearth of posts on this site, "Soldier in the Rain" remains a carefully guarded secret. I both read the book, and enjoyed the movie. Not for all tastes. You gotta' LOVE character-driven stories. Jackie Gleason and Steve McQueen were quite possibly the most unlikely friends in movie history.
Definitely one of the most poignant movies of all time. Heartily recommended!!!

"You can't HANDLE the truth!" Jack Nicholson, "A Few Good Men."

I love character-driven films, but not this one. The performances are sloppy, aside from Gleason.

Oh, well, opinions ARE like a**holes, everybody's got one! On MY Facebook page, I list "Soldier in the Rain" as one of MY favorite movies. Of course, I have over 300 favorite movies, presently!!

George Zimmerman: Trayvon should NOT have brought a bag of Skittles to a gunfight.

Are you calling me an a@@hole? OF COURSE everybody has an opinion. What is your point?

reply

I was certainly NOT calling you an a**hole. My point was, I like the movie, and you don't. That's IT!

Zimmerman is now selling guns for a living. Would you buy a gun from this man--why of course you would!

Release Date: 27 November 1963 (USA)

As somebody on another thread pointed out:

The movie opened on November 27, 1963, five days after President Kennedy's assassination, and nobody was in the mood to go to the movies.
