Scared me at 6...still does at 46!!

Saw this as a child as snuck out of my room as my parents slept. Saw this on a local UHF station around midnight one long ago summer. I had the @#$%! scared out of me big time & had nightmares for some time!
At age 37 I saw in a Rhino catalog what seem like that old haunting movie & it was The Sadist. Anyone else as a kid scared by this film?

yes. I also watched This Film , as a "Little Kid" (I'm a Few Years older-than-You) , in the Middle of the Night , on a Local (Los Angeles) T.V. Channel ... I was frightened by the "Brutality" of Arch Hall's "Charlie" Character (more-so than Many "Monster Movies" that I have-seen ... and I've-seen just-about ALL of Them) ... It wasn't until Years-later that I realized that the Plot was based-upon the Life of Serial Killer , Charles Starkweather + His GirlFriend.

YES! I remember watching this on a local L.A. station with my mother! I never knew the title of this movie, but wondered if it could be something directed by Al Adamson -- maybe "Satan's Sadists"? I came across it last night on a Long Island TV station as the feature on "Macabre Movie" and recognized it immediately, after all these years. It was announced during the commercial break as "The Sadist"; I looked it up on imdb and there was Arch Hall, Jr. of "Eegah" fame, for Heaven's sake. I know others think this movie is brilliant, but frankly last night I realized it is so cheesy and overacted that finally the spell was broken. I never forgot it, though!

I did not see it as a child. My first viewing of it was yesterday. However, a similar film, "Lady in a Cage", I did see as a young teen, and found it very frightening. It's a disturbing subject matter either way.
