The Punch and Judy Man - who played the boy?

My partner and I have just spent a very pleasant time watching Tony Hancock's film on DVD. Amongst the excellent cast we were very impressed by the young actor who played the boy who Hancock treats to the ice cream sundae. Anybody know who he is (on the end credits it lists a "Peter" played by a Nicholas Webb - is that him?). Also the image looked a bit cropped at the sides (it was a 4 x 3 transfer) should it be widescreen?

Cheers Hancock fans!

I did a google search on Nicholas Webb and he was a child performer who worked with Tony Hancock. He also formed the British instrumental group, Acoustic Alchemy. Sadly he died in February 5, 1998 of pancreatic cancer.

He was younger than me. Life is so precious and so short.

I was living in Bognor at the time this film was being shot. Was anyone else there then?

I think most films were shot in 4x3 at that time. The British films always seemed to be low budget and in black and white. I did see this film at the cinema when it came out. Of course the cinema was packed since it was of great local interest for a small seaside town in the bleakish early 60's.
