Who Else has Seen This Movie?

I watched some of it last night on AMC network. Pretty interesting thriller, not bad. I'm surprised that there aren't any posts on it.

Anybody?

reply

I missed it. I wanted to watch it because of Lee Philips but it slipped my mind. Hopefully when it repeats I'll catch it.

I saw it years ago under another title. It was called "Road Henge".

Nothing is more beautiful than nothing.

I saw this on "Chiller Theater" on WPIX TV in the late sixties. All I recall was the opening and James Farentino pulling out a switchblade

reply

It's available through Netflix. Not a great movie, but watchable. The lovely Kaye Elhardt has a nude scene in the first few minutes. It's worth a look just for that!

Saw it today, nothing great but entertaining

I've only seen the 15 minute condensed version on AMC.

"Klaatu barada nikto"

Was James Farentino playing himself in this flick?

reply

Just bought a copy at a used bookstore. Haven't watched it yet.

I saw it maybe 10 years ago and enjoyed it . When I saw it was brought in for 42 k , I was amazed , it really is exceptional for that price !

Movie girl: I recall seeing this movie when I was a kid of 11 or 12. It was pretty scary! My older sister and I watched a station one summer that showed British, Italian and American horror films. I can only say that it really scared me! Soon I saw Blood and Black Lace, another shocker.

In recalling it later, I found that there was a 70's film with the same title, but completely unrelated.
Just saw your post and wondered if there was anyone else who was impressed by this film. I for one was totally shocked at the ending. (When I got over the heart-stopping suspense, I thought of how well the film was made).

THis is doubly true now, as I have seen more shocker films that are too violent and gross. This one holds the level of suspense and has a more balanced aspect of showing violence than many films today. It shows you the events in a shocking manner, but as I recall does not go way over the top. (Of course that was quite a few years ago in the mid-60's that I saw the film).

Does anyone know where to locate a copy? I think the original title was
Psycho-Mania.

reply

It's pretty good. It's historically interesting for being a well made 1963 movie with a fair amount of nudity (if you watch it on DVD).

reply

Just don't buy it from Sinister Cinema under the title 'Psycho-Mania'. I just did, and it's heavily edited.

BTW...I ordered it through Amazon.
