I am shocked that the special effects, in 1963, were so utterly horrendous. Without being too spoilery, there are two scenes where people fall from a height. I paused, laughed for about an hour after each, then resumed watching the movie.
shareSeen much better in other films of the same era, so we´ll not gonna let The Prize off the hook this easily. But yes, they were atrocious indeed - at the end of the second fall (performed by that long-faced guy from Marienbad), it actually seemed he briefly bounced upwards again on that pitchfork-like thingy before coming to rest.
