I know it may sound stupid......

im just a kid, and im thinking of buying the dvd collection that just came out. as an owner of 49 dvds, the 50th is going to be police academy, I know it will be fun without me seeing it, just like it happened with the blues brothers, I was wondering why doesnt the pink panther appear, or is it a metaphor for inspector closeau, and then came the cartoons.
please dont kill me, Im just 15, and I dont know about the whole franchise.

"the pink panther" in the films is a famous and very rare diamond. When the film was being made, Blake Edwards wanted to open it with a different yet funny approach. He commission Friz Freleng and David DePatie to create an animated opening scene. What resulted was a very new, and funny approach to open a film. Everyone liked it so much, that the pink panther of the scene got his own hit cartoon series and shorts. In addition, each Pink Panther film would open with a funny animated pink panther credit. There were also a couple of Inspector Clouseau animated shorts. The opening theme for those shorts was the famous one used for A Shot in the Dark.

I'm glad you are thinking about buying the pink panther DVD collection. The series is perhaps one of the best of its kind. The DVD collection is great too! Sad to say, however, that the fools at MGM are going to remake this great movie.

I think the new Pink Panther movie is a prequel not a remake and The Pink Panther (1963) is not all that great, the other films in the series are better. I can't wait to see Steve Martin as Inspector Clouseau.

thanks!!!!!! now I can clear my mind. I know! that is so annoying, when tinseltown remakes films, it only means that they dont know what to do anymore.
