Did Gale Garnett really do the dubbing of Claudia Cardinale?

I am aware that Claudia was dubbed in this film. But my question is, where's the proof that it was Gale Garnett who dubbed her voice? Did Blake Edwards say anything like that? Did Gale herself admit it?

I don't think Ms. Cardinale was dubbed in this movie. She spoke with too much of an accent. I know that someone (sorry..don't know who) dubbed her in Once Upon a Time in The West. It was so obvious that is wasn't her talking/speaking. But I'm pretty sure that this is her own voice in The Pink Panther. (I'm watching it right now.)

I've seen this film a few times, and it definitely looked to me like Claudia was dubbed.

For one thing, during the interior scenes, the characters all spoke with ambient noise, but there was none of that with Claudia.

Plus, I take it you didn't listen to the Blake Edwards commentary. He said she was dubbed.

Yes, that is definitely her voice - watch her Italian movies and interviews. I don't know what Blake Edwards was talking about.
