What is up with the guys' hair and makeup?

Ty Hardin's is two-toned - as if it had been dyed and then allowed to washout (unevenly).

Troy Donahue's hair looks weird too. Also - is he wearing too much makeup? I know it's makeup for filming, but it just looks "obvious."

First, remember now we are watching movies on HD and it shows everything we never noticed beforre. In Ty's case, it probably was a case of his hair was longer and he'd been in the sun a lot (just guessing) and was given a haircut for the movie. I don't really pay attention to stuff like that - but I did notice it and that he had gray hair at his temple. I felt like Connie's makeup was way overdone and that pale pink lipstick in the first scene in the bus was not attractive on her. Plus, her hair was an ashen color - not good. Loved seeing Stephanie Powers with freckles though!

What bothers me about movies then and now (sometimes) is the tendancy to use actors who are much older than the character they are portraying. They were college students and the majority of then were in their late 20s. Stephanie was about the only one close in age. And Connie's character at the end, admits to being 18 - but she was really around 25.

I do love these movies from this era!

Ty's looks like bad highlights. The man is a nutcase anyway.

Robert Conrad has pink lips.
