Movie memories + Stefanie Powers

I was 19 and my future wife was 16 when the movie came out. We saw it together.

Just saw it again on TCM.

I enjoyed it because it brought me back to when things were so much more fun and relatively innocent.

I loved seeing the clothing styles and cars. I was reminded of how we thought Kingston Trio groups were so cool (What was I thinking).

Most of all, I could not take my eyes off Stefanie Powers. My beautiful bride and she look so much alike.

It's been 19 years since my love passed away but the movie brought back wonderful memories of her...no matter how goofy the story was.

First off... So sorry for your loss.
I always wondered how people like yourself felt about how goofy this movie and the times (clothes etc...) were back then. I was born in '62, so I'm a little younger than you. I think it's wonderful that you had such fond memories watching this movie. Your wife was a very lucky women.
Take Care!

I loved that time period. I was four when this movie came out.

What was that awful folk band? That was terrible!

Movie girl: I am so sorry about your loss! I too love the film. I did not see it until recently, though it came out when I was 11 or 12. Stephanie did look so beautiful then and now!

I enjoyed her "The Girl From U.N.C.L.E" but it didn't last long!

It really was the last vestige of innocence in this country. The early 60s were still very much like the 50s but with a bright look toward the future. The JFK assassination and the events that followed changed everything. The 60s are now remembered for being a very turbulent and violent time. But for one brief shining moment it really was Camelot.
