Never bought this movie

Cliff Robertson's portrayal of JFK was weak, he didn't even try the Boston accent that distinguished all the Kennedys.

Also, I always thought that since this film and the book it was taken from JFK's account of events, there was a lot of mythology presented.

"Don't call me 'honey', mac."
"Don't call me 'mac'... HONEY!"

The film was based on a book by Robert J Donovan. That is in the credits.

It is stated in facts that President Kennedy did not want Cliff Robertson to try and copy the Boston accent. Cliff Robertson also had to part his hair the opposite way to match President Kennedy.
