Funny moments in between the slow parts

This movie does have comical bits throughout the movie, but also many slow parts. It starts off at the very beginning, mocking the shoppers as the doors open to a sale, and of course, I love anything Thelma Ritter does. But no on-screen magic between Newman & Woodward, which is strange. I might have cast 2 others in the lead parts. Script also had fast, funny moments, and a lot of S-L-O-W parts. Eva Gabor was funny, and a guest appearance by Maurice Chevalier, who was already getting old in 1963.

I didn't feel that there were any slow parts; on the contrary I thought practically every line was witty. If only people could talk like that in real life -- all the time -- life wouldn't be so boring. The characters are so sarcastic -- from Thelma Ritter's remarks, to Paul Newman's scenes with almost every other character -- I love that kind of humor.

I didn't see any slow parts either, and it helps that the supporting cast is top-notch. This feels a bit like a Rock Hudson/Doris Day knockoff, but I found it very entertaining.
