1962 Documentary

The perfect complement to Winter Light is the long Swedish television docu, "Ingmar Bergman Makes a Movie". It's available now on DVD.

The documentary follows Bergman and his actors, actresses, and film crew as they literally film Winter Light.

Bergman is shown as the perfect perfectionist when it came to making his movies. Bergman must have driven his long-time film editor - at least - crazy with the director's attention to the smallest of details. But, those details mean everything in his films.
