Miracle of the White Stallions

This movie was originally on Disney's Wonderful World of Color in the early 1960's and was one of my favorites. I was under the age of 10 when I saw it for the first time. It was a 2-parter. When I found it on DVD in the store they were out and I had to special order it. It still is one of my favorites. I could not believe that Eddie Albert had such a good singing voice. His obituary said that singing was one of his talents in his performing history. The passion of the people who aided and abetted the escape from Vienna was patriotism of the best. Curt Jurgens was one of my favorite actors expecially when I found out he had spoken out against Hitler and spent WWll in a concentration camp. That explains why, in every movie he made about war he was against it since he always played a Nazi except for "Inn of the Sixth Happiness" and "The Spy Who Loved Me." Basically this was a story of good versus evil and good won. His character in this showed that not all bad guys are bad. Some are human beings in spite of the danger that puts them in.

Having just seen the Lipizzaner Stallions perform a few days ago, I was anxious to see this movie.

What an amazing story. I'm so glad the horses were rescued and their legacy continues.

My entire life I wanted to see the Lipizzaner's perform and I finally fulfilled that life-long dream.

Their performance is something I will always remember.
