I can't believe there are no discussions, thoughts, opinions - just anything on this amazing film. Yes, it is amazing and beautiful, and one of the most erotic and sensual movies ever made. It is delightful, it is a gem, it is enjoyable, and very sad.

It is a film to which its creator, the Greek Director Nikos Koundouros refers to as a film of desperation. "Desperation which is described in beautiful blue waters of Aegean Sea, with two young kids exploring their bodies. Desperation because we had discredited, abolished, and immobilized ourselves, we who had fought, who had raised our voices, who had demonstrated for a new world. There was nothing for us to do. In my desperation, I decided to work on nothingness. This is a film about ideological nothingness."

The reason for making this movie might have been nothingness and desperation but the result is joyous, sensual, eternal, and forever young.

Not many living people have seen it.
The charm of the movie is that it simply looks in on the tragic ancient episode of the two individuals and their contemporaries. It doesn't try to characterize, justify, reward, punish or even make sense out of their romantic adventures. There's no "moral to the story". It is pure in that respect, although it has been faulted for that.
It's much like the ancient Greek fables of gods and demi-gods. In these stories, the players are simply fickle, and that's how the stories proceed.
