?? Is it when the whole,entire,movie is dominated & carried by just one actor?

A character study is when the film focuses heavily on developing the individual personalities of the characters more so than the plot. The Station Agent and this film are great examples. In films like this the focus is entirely on who the characters are, not what they do.
