Whatever became of ATRAGON?

I remember stumbling across this late one Saturday night on Sci-Fi Theatre back in grade school. Even though that was the only time I ever saw it, I remember thinking it was one of the best Toho science fiction adventures I had ever seen. For some reason, it never seems to show up on TV and, to the best of my knowledge, has never had a home video release. Isn't it about time to bring super submarine ATRAGON out of drydock and back onto our television screens?

Watch for it at Fry's or other Movie outlets. Media Blasters are releasing it under their Toyko Shock brand. Check this site out for news about other movies.

I got "the Mysterians" and "Attack of the Mushroom People". The prints are very good of older films. I almost have all of the Godzilla movies now, unfortunatlt some are out of print or not released.

Thanks for the heads up! I, too, picked up MYSTERIANS and ATTACK OF THE MUSHROOM PEOPLE, as well as VARAN THE UNBELIEVABLE. Hope we'll see more Toho titles come our way (such as BATTLE IN OUTER SPACE). My only complaint with Media Blasters is VARAN had the Japanese feature, then a chopped down version done for Japanese TV. Rather than see the chop-job, I would like to have seen the alternate American version included. I was also surprised at the new English language dub on MYSTERIANS, which gave the one bicyclist a thick southern American accent.

Atragon is scheduled for release Dec 13. One can only hope they do as good a job with this as they did with the Mysterians.
