It's funny that Jane's character has a respiratory condition that required two surgeries and her husband said it was dangerous for her to drive, yet she's smoking cigarettes like nobody's business. I guess it was the times. I've been amused and appalled in equal measure watching doctors light up immediately after performing surgery. At least they waited until after, I hope.

I was surprised to see her smoking in the back seat of the Cadillac but even more surprised when she threw the lit cigarette out the window. Then I noticed she wasn't wearing a seat belt (not surprising at the time) and they were swilling liquor as well.

I guess somethings have changed for the better in the last 50 years.
