Angela Lansbury

She was the saving grace of this picture. I loved the scene in which she leaves Peter Finch.

I agree. For a love triangle-whatever, there was no intrigue, no suspense, no "why are you doing this to me?". Angela knew Finch was in love with Jane and she was going to have her fling as long as everyone else was having theirs.

Angela was gorgeous and Jane was smokin'. This is a movie you can watch with the sound turned off and just gaze at the ladies.

amen to that. you cant stop looking at their hair -- they reversed em or something; older, cynical Sybil (Angela) gets the blond hair, and young, energetic, frisky Christine (Jane) gets the straight, dark hair, like Liz in "Cleopatra".

reply

LOL - That's exactly what I've been doing - watching with the sound off.

Pretty to look at; a snooze fest otherwise.

Terrible ending.

Everyone in this movie looked great. What was Jane dying of in the end or was she dying ????????

reply

TCM.com full synopsis says "pneumonia".

Angela Lansbury is magnificent!

reply

She is always a pleasure to watch in her earlier performances, a scene stealer; a far cry from her later years as Jessica Fletcher.
