The Hook

I have just watched this film on TCM. It was a suprise to me as I had never heard of this film before. For such a small scale drama it had a stellar cast, and was well acted. The film seemed more in the vein of a TV drama production, and I wonder if it had been produced for the small screen originally!! On a nit picking note, the IMDB review refers to the plane at the beginning as a MIG jet. It is in fact a North American B25 Mitchell bomber, which I do not think were used by the North Koreans!!

I agree that the movie was well-acted despite the shaky script. As a person who has lived in South Korea previously, I enjoyed the movie. I didn't initially recognize the background music, but eventually did recognize the traditional Korean folk song "Arirang" played with a harmonica which gave it more of a western feel.

As I was watching it I as well felt like it was a TV Drama. Along the lines of something that would be done on Twilight Zone. Just a great story about how War effects all those evolved.
