Specifically the term of The Hook refers to a mountain ridge near the city of Kaesong which was of strategic importance to military forces involved in the Korean conflict. Personally, I found the title confusing for this movie, as most of it took place at sea.

"The Hook" in the title refers to each man is on the "HOOK" to be in debt to someone else. Don't you people actually watch these movies?????? Or are you two year olds who need to have every detail explained to you as you are watching something. If that is the case Adult Dramas are not for you maybe Sponge Bob is more your speed.

Well, I've never even seen the movie ('cept for the ending where the kid who was on a Star Trek ep was beefing at some of the better known stars) but I figured from the title & description of the show, that 'The Hook' meant something like having the 'screws' put to them for some sort of moral failing during wartime.
