The Haunting for sure.

I think The Haunting is better in terms of overall quality, but House on Haunted Hill is scarier.

Two of my all-time favourite b&w horrors.

The Haunting is one of the best, most atmospheric ghost stories ever filmed, with fantastic performances from a top-flight cast. You see virtually nothing, but it's still capable of raising goosebumps and the hairs on the back of your neck. Incredible photography and use of sound.

House on Haunted Hill has bags of atmosphere, and actually has some creepy scenes. Plus Vincent Price, the gorgeous Carol Ohmart, and one of THE all time great jump-scares. But there's a lot of (admittedly entertaining) camp in there. Easy choice for me;

The Haunting ~ 10/10
House on Haunted Hill ~ 8/10

Love them both, watch them both every Halloween.
