Music

Am I alone in feeling that the music in The Girl Hunters is some of the worst music in the history of cinema? Not that this is a great movie, but the music really distracts from the film.

Mickey Spillane was a great author with his Mike Hammer novels. A great actor he ain't. Thankfully he never acted as Mike Hammer again.

If you're referring to that blaring/wailing trumpet music that popped up all too often, then you are not alone. I thought that music was comically out of place in what was supposed to be a suspenseful detective movie. That music seemed more befitting a romantic movie set in Mexico, or on an early-sixties version of The Love Boat, but certainly not in this movie!

As far as Mickey Spillane the author serving as Mickey Spillane the actor portraying his own creation (detective Mike Hammer), all I can say is, hmmm, interesting experiment. Not great, but not terribly bad, either. The whole movie seemed to have a goodly assortment of rough-hewn mugs, and he fit right in.

Oh, brother, are you ever so right. I SOLD my DVD copy because of the crappy music. It totally ruined the film. That and the out of print price of the DVD was so high I couldn't resist selling it.

There is no "off" position on the genius switch.

Music was 'overmuch'

Spillane was decent as Mike..
