Odd subject - SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT

It occurs to me after watching this movie that the subject matter is very adult.

You have a naive girl who longs for romance and adventure in Paris. She runs away from her stable home and in the process is swept up by a smooth talking thug who convinces her to let his "sister", another criminal who looks an awful lot like the madam of a brothel, spruce her up to look like a french tart and then attempts to sell her to an American for "marriage".

Where I come from we call that sex trafficking.

Despite the fact that everything turns out in fairy tale fashion with a heroic rescue, the poor naive girl is still in terrific danger and nearly ends up in a foreign country, the property of another and without resources.

Despite the Warner Brothers technicolor animation - still an odd subject for a kids movie I think, lol.

Cat sex trafficking is legal in France maybe?

Does it actually state that shes being shipped to another cat?

If shes being shipped to a human for marriage, I would think there
are some kind of laws pertaining to that in Pennsylvania.
Of course he could say he bought her for breeding and not mention the
specific details.

If shes being shipped as a sex slave to another cat, I guess it depends
on what the cat CONSTITUTION says about it.

Either way, I watched this the other night for the first time in
at least 40 years and also noticed this awkward storyline.

Guess I wasnt thinking in this frame of mind back in 1970 ;)

Pffft, my suspension of disbelief has higher standards than that.
