The Most Boring Movie Ever Made

Its like watching paint dry.

A bunch of costumed idiots having a party or walking along a street and just engaging in small talk. Thats pretty much it. 

"How do you do."

"Father, I'd like you to meet my new boyfriend."

"How do you do"

"I'm well, thank you. How about you?"

"Nice party."

"Shall we dance?"

I kept wondering, what's the point but afterwards I felt better about it. I think the length is what was a little off-putting. Learning a little about the history of the region and seeing it as a transitional time made me appreciate the movie so much more. I don't know that I'll sit through it again anytime soon but I enjoyed the movie and will think back on it often.

Woman, man! That's the way it should be Tarzan. [Tarzan and his mate]

No, SeussMe, that is NOT pretty much it!

A bunch of costumed idiots

What exactly makes them idiots?

You know what's really boring? Coming on IMDB boards and seeing every non-mainstream film having a thread devoted to how supposedly 'boring' it is. Fine, it's not your thing but just labelling something as boring means you have nothing constructive to say about it and you're just wasting everybody's time. Go and find a 'non-boring' film to comment on.
(And I hate saying to someone who doesn't like a film that they 'don't get it', but in this case, if you think what you've written above is 'pretty much it' then you truly don't get it. There are things going on in this movie which you just don't understand and perhaps never will. Your loss.)

reply

Agreed. I watched the whole thing and nothing interesting happened.

The movie pretty much follows the novel, with large sections of text lifted from the book. To me, the most boring part was the 42-minute ball scene where a cast of thousands waltzed around hardly saying anything of substance.

What a pack of dull brained morons.

This film is beautiful, melancholic, perfectly paced, has excellent acting (especially Burt Lancaster) and a great score.
The Leopard is one of cinema's greatest achievements.

Not enough porn or disembowelments for you?
Not enough 1.5 second edits?

it's one of those movies that you can't say it's a bad movie, because the acting and directing are of a high quality, cinematography is excellent too

but the story is lacking in any kind of engaging dialogue or event 5/10
