Just wanted to point out a discrepancy with the comment that I read about this film:
The poster said that this is the only pairing of Lee and Bava which is incorrect. Christopher Lee was also in Bava's first (and superior) color feature, "Hercules in the Haunted World."
Pointing this out for fans of Lee!
He probably meant that it was their only good collaboration cause lets face it Hercules is by far the weakest Bava around.
Anyways it's quite tragic that they did not do more work together.

Nonsense! Hercules in the Haunted World is great fun. Sure it's not up there with Mask of Satan, Diabolik, Rabid Dogs or Lisa and the Devil, but it's at least as good as Planet of the Vampires, Hatchet for the Honeymoon and Baron Blood, and definitely better than Roy Colt and Winchester Black or (gulp) Dr. Goldfoot and the Girl Bombs.
Bava's use of colour is superb in Hercules, taking it to almost psychedelic extremes a few times. Check out the Fantomas dvd, it's rad.
