the Drive-In

When I was a kid in Dearborn, Michigan (and I wish again I wish again ...), there was a drive-in called the Jolly Roger. Me, my sister and my folks went to a double feature, the unlikely pairing of 4 for Texas and a Sonny and Cher movie. Since I would only be 4 years old in 1963, I must have been about twice that age to be able to remember any of this.
I can't figure out what-the-heck kind of movie would have featured Sonny and Cher back around 1967 or so, but we watched this kind of lousy movie (4 for Texas) and my Dad decides it's late so we're going to leave. To me, the whole reason for going was to see Sonny and Cher! That was a time when my Mom said, basically, sorry, your Dad's driving, he has to work in the morning, and that's the way it is. I was fuming. What a rip-off. Not that I shelled out any money, being around 8 years old -- BUT STILL ! 4 For Texas!

I'm not a woman much less Deanna Durbin, but the old-time glam-shot appeals to me.
