Wonderful movie, horrible legacy

What an engaging CUTE film.

Unfortunately, this movie helped feed the public's misperception of "happy CAPTIVE marine mammals."

For dolphins held captive in order to perform, maybe it's not such a big deal, since they lead a better life than if they were in the wild.

But for orcas - who are much larger - keeping them captive seems terribly unfair. No water pen is really large enough to give them the feeling of the freedom they need.

No wonder they occasionally turn on their trainers and kill them.

I totally agree here nycruise-1 . You're absolutely right most animals especially ones like these are NOT happy in captivity . IMPO Animals are people too and deserve their freedom like the rest of us . Thanks so much nycruise-1 for your subject post .
