Who's your daddy? Haloran family tree doesn't add up(?)

Early on, Lady Haloran's late husband is described as a famous sculptor, and later we find out he taught all his sons to sculpt. When Louise is speaking to the caretaker, Arthur, about the death of Kathleen, he indicates that she died the day of a wedding, stating that the much-beloved "Lord Haloran" held a big wedding to which all the countrymen were invited, and she "was all dressed up as a bridesmaid". Obviously this would not have been John and Louise' wedding, since this is her first vist to Ireland and she knew nothing about the drowning. This story seems to have one wedding too many...and perhaps one 'Lord Haloran' too many as well!

Then son Richard later tells fiance Kane that his father died "with a wife unwilling to see him". If all these children (and Kathleen) were from a previous marriage, they'd have a different last name. And is Lady Haloran wearing a wedding band on both hands as she's lying in bed? Am I missing something, or is the family tree missing a branch or two?

OK, I think I figured this out. Thanks to Arthur's Irish brogue and the poor sound quality of the dvd, I perhaps misunderstood what he said. Apparenty Lord Haloran invited 'one of the countryfellas' to have HIS wedding at the castle, for which Kathleen was dressed as a bridesmaid. And it was during this wedding that she drown in the lake. So the Haloran family tree is indeed in tack. My bad (hearing).
