This or The Running Man?

Liked Harvey better than Perkins but Loren better than Remick.
I guess Running Man?

I just re-watched this on blu-ray today (I think it recently became available). I previously watched it in a film class years ago, and always liked it because of Sophia & Tony Perkins; who, for some very unexplainable reason, have great chemistry. I believe they were friends in real life--nothing romantic, though, considering Tony's leanings.

Anyway, I've also been a great fan of the Sir Carol Reed film The Running Man with Lee Remick & Laurence Harvey...so yes, I think these two films are similar in the couple-faking-a-death-swindling-for-money plot.

Of the two, I'd have to give the thumbs up to The Running Man--primarily because Carol Reed is a much better director than Anatole Litvak. Still I like the dark visuals of Paris in "Five Miles" and, of course, Sophia Loren is a notch above Lee Remick in the hottie department.

Bottom line: both are good examples for film students to watch, and are representative of storytelling methods of their respective times.
