Where did Luanne Go

she sorta disappeared during her beach date with Duke...

We can DO IT ALLLL DAY LONG, (We'll have to pay more for the light bill if we do it at night!)

Luanne was strange girl so I wouldn't be surprised if she tried to swim in the ocean at Coney Island and drowned. I mean she said seemed to obsessed with the ocean, so I wouldn't be surprised if she died while trying to swim in the ocean.

I think she simply fled, especially after having seen the ocean so close and thus realized that her dreams were attainable, and after seeing Duke at the shooting gallery and noting how focused he was on the guns, shooting, and so on and not on her. In a sense he brought her to a place of possibility, freeing her from the prostitution and sexual slavery, but in another sense, he disappointed her by still being so focused on violence (even if at an amusement park) instead of her. So she leaves. There's also the fascinating parallel between her disappearance and the mother's comment about men disappointing you and just vanishing. A profound film, despite its flaws, and so much deeper and more beautiful than the vast majority of stuff Hollywood puts on on a weekly basis.

Yeah, I kinda wanna know this too.

It kinda ruined the rest of the movie for me because I just kept waiting for her to show up
