Me too!

I'd love to have a copy of this...great memories...but I've searched everywhere and I don't think it ever made it to tape. If anyone ever
hears of a copy......

reply

Add me to the list of those who want this film on VHS or DVD. Thanks!

reply

I managed to tape it off the TV about 12 years ago and see it occasionally. But a DVD would be welcome. Perhaps we could persuade Mother Dolores Hart, who has some clout in film circles, to put in a request for her very last film.

If you want a movie on this, it can be seen on occasion at auction on eBay, yahoo...even at www.dvdbluedot.com, there still is no official release on dvd of this. Boo.

I can see that there is a copy of COME FLY WITH ME on DVD advertised with Blue Dot. They have some toher films that I want too. But what is the picture and sound quality like?

This wonderful old film will be shown again on Turner Classic Movies on 5.24.2007
(according to TCM's website) at 1:30 P.M. If you get Turner Classic Movies via
your cable company or by satellite dish, you may wish to tape and/or make a DVD
copy of it at that time. I agree that this is a great old film, a fine example of
the great old MGM glossy romances. I am 51 years old and it brings back fond mem-
ories for me when flying was something special. I flew during this period of time
(1963) when , in my opinion, flying was in it's heyday. People dressed up to fly, and service in coach was almost what service in first class is today. Two
points: 1. A while back, reporter Bob Brown interviewed Dolores Hart (now the
Reverend Mother Dolores) at her nunnery in Connecticut. She reminisced about
Come Fly With Me (her last film) and other interesting things about her (too brief) Hollywood career. She is not doing too well these days, as she has some
sort of debilitating nerve illness. This interview was on 20/20, I believe.
2. On the Turner Classic Movies official website, there was an interesting article
by one of their staff writers, Frank Miller, who is clearly a fan of the film.
Read and enjoy!

if you have TCM ON DEMAND on your cable system, COME FLY WITH ME is available right now (as of 5/12/07). I watched it last night, and it was a fun, light...hate to say it, in view of today's cramped, security-conscious travel....almost nostalgic look at a time when flying on a plane was glamourous!

The cast is very good: Dolores Hart (today still Mother Dolores, and a voting member of the Motion Picture Academy), Pamela Tiffin (what a beautiful woman with such a great light comedic touch), Lois Nettleton, Karl Malden, Hugh O'Brian.

Will your life change in these 2 hours? Nah. Will it be a nice, relaxing change of pace romp....with serious undertones about the war between the sexes...complete with a bittersweet ending for one of the girls...?

Absolutely! Have fun with it.

I would love to get a copy on DVD. I have been trying to see this movie for years but it is so hard to find. If anyone has a copy I would really love to see it and put an end to my frustration on trying to find the movie or waiting for some channel to play it.

Thanks,
Shannon
