Rex Harrison always plays the same character

I'll admit I don't care for him at all, but one of my beefs with Rex Harrison is that he plays the same character in every movie. Whether its Dr. Dolittle, My Fair Lady, or Cleopatra, he's the same guy - pompous, bemused, slightly cranky but affable. I guess studios just hired him to play himself in every role.
