where these the same type of children in village of the damned or was this a different story all together? Where the children implanted embryos by aliens as part of an invasion scheme or where they a new species of humans and naturally occurring? This question is presented in the film and not answered (to my satisfaction) but I am wondering on what those who produced this movie have to say about it. Or what other viewers think.
shareIt never really said. I guess it's open to interpretation. But whatever they are, they were certainly more kind and loving than the children from the original so I figure either they are advanced humans or the aliens that created them learned from their mistakes and decided to make them differently this time around.

It does say. They are a new mutation. The children in the original Village of the Damned and the book The Midwich Cuckoos were aliens implanted and birthed by xenogenesis. This movie, however, actually shows abnormal cell growth associated with genetic mutation.

oops! The Tomorrow People could not kill. Well, maybe The Children of The Damned were an imperfect first batch of the Tomorrow People.
yeah, well, the problem with the "mutation explanation" is that:
* they made clear that all these children were born without a male impregnating the woman.
* all these children were the same age
* each child was from a different nation
basically, the movie is inconsistent. it has both explanations at play at the same time, and neither of them work.
I think the premise of this movie is supposed to be these are survivors of the original infestation. i.e. families that moved out of the towns before the children were born or left town before trouble began and therefore were missed.
