The students

Why is it none of the children are credited. I personally know one of the children that played one of the students. I know that it was a different time, but who cares, give the student's credit for their work. Look at the Kid and I, the star has a disability, I know one of the students in the movie has an actual disability, I worked with him for 2 years at UCP, give them credit where credit is due.

Film credits were limited until the 1970's. Only principal actors/roles and the major technical contributors were credited before the 70's. Now everyone, down to the caterers, dog walker, and accountants, is credited. When this film was made, it wasn't the custom to credit all the actors. As some others have pointed out, if you know the information, you can update IMDB.

Not to mention that back in the day, once the paperwork was signed, the child became a ward of the State. One had to have permission (informed consent) to photograph/film each and everyone of the individuals who would appear in the film. These decisions would have been made by the doctor/facility director or his/her designee in lieu of the parents who were technically no longer the child's parents.
The vast majority of parents dropped their child off never to return (it was how it was done back then) as It was thought to be the best for all involved.
As pictures are taken at admission, it wouldn't have been hard to double check his/her admission date and photo and judge as to whether the child could/would be recognized x number of years after admission.
I would imagine someone thought about how terrible it would be for the parents to see the movie and then be blind sided seeing their child's name up there on the silver screen as the credits rolled !!

Movie credits were often incomplete, and children frequently uncredited, but this is a heartbreaking case. If you can supply the name of any of the children, the IMDb would be happy to list it. It would be grand to finally give those talented kids the credit they deserve.

Juanita Moore, the black mother, was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress only 3 years prior (for IMITATION OF LIFE) and even she wasn't credited! In today's world everybody and their pet cat is credited. I don't know which is worse.
