Guess what...

...this film is BANNED IN GERMANY!!!

Here's a fun fact for ya:

It actally took German bureaucrats over 40 (!!!) years to ban this film.
It was banned in 2004. Some things just take their time, I guess...

I'm German too and I'm getting used to going to my fav store to undergo a conversation like that:

- "I've heard of a movie it's called <insert name> and I'd love to watch it...you've got every sick-flick, so I came here."
- "Hm. I've never heard a *girl* asking for something like that. Wicked! But you know...I mustn't sell this movie. They banned it."
- "Oh, did they?"
- "Yes. I fact...years ago...sorry."

I'm not saying most of those films are worth watching, but it's always kinda disappointing. But of course some films are better banned. Some not.

But that remembers me of an odd story: How I was searching for "Funny Games" (which isn't banned at all!) round here. Believe it or not, it took me over 2 years to get this movie, I was even thrown out of a store when I asked for it. Finally I got a french import and for the money I paid I could have traveled to France to buy it personally (ok, a bit overdrawn). Well, I watched and liked it (understood some reactions) and was proud of owning a rarity.
And some time later this &§$% film gained cult status, a remake is being filmed and now you can get the movie in every store for about 7€...even in the store where they threw me out!
imo, THAT's a really wicked thing! I really don't understand something like that.

Well, back to original topic.

Another example of why I say politicians are psychos.

Who else wants power over other people?

They probably thought the movie gave away too many of their at-home secrets.
