If you hate this movie, you are a 'horror poser'

The idiots JUST getting into horror/b-movies make me laugh. The film has aged and is VERY cheesy. But its still a GREAT film.

The opening where he hacks a woman to death and all you see is her arm slowly falling as she's being mutilated is very tastefully done. HG was the first guy to direct stuff like this, so cut him some slack. Plus, he did this independently with an amateur crew. None of you could do something as great as this little cheap film that is now legendary.

You come for the gore and he delivers, even by today's standards. So stop hating on this film. Plus, you get plenty of awkward acting and really creepy music. This is a horror CLASSIC.

Agreed 100%!!

People need to give credit where its due. Its like saying that last house on the left is rubbish because of the acting and score.

All just part of the saw generation where everything has to look all pretty with good lighting. I'm amazed at the low score on this one, hard to believe it came out in 63!

It was supposed to be as bad as it was. Nobody involved took it seriously.

I watched this movie for the first time today and although we've seen every kind of gore you can think of now I imagine it must've been pretty shocking back in 1963. How fun it would've been to see it during the original release. But anyways, I did think this was an okay movie and one I'm sure I'll watch again in the future.

I sort of agree, but this film isn't exactly "Psycho" or "Suspiria." I gave it a 6.5/10, rounded up to a 7, though without the historical interest it's more like a 6 - decent, but not great.

I agree 100% with this. I appreciate the hell out of this film and its creators for what it achieved and I do love a bit of cheesiness.

It is a terrible film, maybe a 3/10, but it is pretty entertaining. Maybe a 6/10 for entertainment value.
