I hate this movie

I give it a one. It is long and dragged out. The kid is constantly whining. Then at the end the birds don't even attack. I was hoping they would tear everyone to shreds and put us out of their misery. Much over-rated like most other Alfred Hitchcock movies. Long dragged out. It's not suspense, it's torture.

reply

Feel free to never watch it again.

reply

I wasn't watching. I was trapped in a condo with my mother who watched it really loudly. With the exception of the Man who Knew too Much, I don't watch Hitchcock movies. I hate what everyone else calls suspense.

reply

You seem to hate a lot. How sad for you.

And anyway, if you weren't watching then how do you know enough to have an opinion at all?

Dick, I am VERY disappointed.

reply

Go watch Michael Bay movies then.

that'll be the day

I think the 1956 version of "The Man Who Knew Too Much" stinks

I don't think people with your particular pathology and degree of ignorance were quite amongst the target audience of The Birds. And the fact that you're whining about the birds not attacking in the end, proves just how clueless you are in regards to what you saw.

Calm down! It's a movie!

I really really like Psycho, Rear Window, and have a soft spot for Vertigo and NxNW, but I find Birds to be utterly pointless and boring as it bangs on before any action happens.

I'm rewarching it now and at 50 minutes in, nothing has happened. Lots of people spoke though.

reply

I also gave it a 1. One of the worst movies of all time.

reply

I love the movie...find it immensely re-watchable and enjoy it every time I do.
So, really...who cares what you think?

If you really hate whining than maybe you shouldn't be such a whiner.

reply

Who cares what you think about who cares what the OP thinks?

reply

You come to a board about a classic film that many people love and tell them you hate the movie. If you had stopped there in voicing your feelings it would have been a brave thing to do and you would be more than entitled to voicing your feelings.

But, then you proceeded to show you have no appreciation for what was done with this movie and how people might enjoy it for how well put together it is. It works better if you pay attention rather than just thinking things you don't like is garbage.

Have a nice day.

Those are the kinds of posts I don't like. If someone doesn't like this movie, I think it just shows they like complaining or just mindlessly don't like the movie. I want the person to state why they don't like it. Maybe it will be for a good reason, or maybe not. But it is utterly useless to just post that the movie was not liked/hated. The brave thing is to state clearly why you don't like this or any movie.

I try doing this with my posts

Those are the kinds of posts
I think a more useful post would have been something like, "Can someone explain why they found this movie so great?" Humility probably is a better vehicle for one's need to spew hatred.

reply

The OP admitted that he didn't even watch the movie. So his opinion is completely worthless. Don't feed the trolls people!

reply

I agree it's extremely overrated and lacks suspense, and dragged out. And most Hitchcocks are either overrated, or at times massively overrated.
