Opening sequence

What a great opening! I just saw this film for the first time. I am stuck with the image of flying above traffic and then being pulled back to earth on the beach. Something about the sound and camerawork in those shots is incredible.

When watching that scene I feel weightless, as if the rope is tied to my leg and I'd go soaring off if it were to let go. Truly dreamlike

Fellini has great control of the audience's senses and usues this to create a beautiful and strange little film that isn't easily forgotten.
