Barbara Streisand on show?

I don't see her name on the list here at IMDB, but on YouTube there are a couple of clips of Judy and Barbara singing that are definitely TV, and I think from this show.

Yes she was on the show.

It won't be displayed on TJGS's main page, because there it lists only those who've appeared more than once. On Barbra's page, however, it's listed.

Personally, I think I have too much bloom. Maybe that's the trouble with me.

Absolutely! I remember watching it as a child. More recently, clips have been shown on PBS. The really fun part of the episode was the fact that, although Barbra was the guest on the show, Ethel Merman was a member of the audience. Judy prevailed on Ethel to join them on stage and the three of them sang, “There’s No Business Like Show Business” supposedly impromptu. Who knows? Ethel was a guest the next week. Frankly, Barbra looked a bit intimidated by the presence of the two megastars.
As a child, I took big stars for granted. Now that I look back on it, I am amazed at the huge stars Judy had as guests: Streisand, Merman, June Allyson, Mickey Rooney (natch), Lena Horne, Peggy Lee, Donald O’Connor and more.

All this time and nobody's seen fit to correct the spelling of her name?

Streisand's appearance on this show gained her wide exposure - their duet together is electrifying: a legend, and a legend-in-the-making. Streisand is still in the awkward stage, not quite sure of herself in front of the camera. And when Streisand and Garland are joined by Ethel Merman for "There's No Business Like Show Business," it's pretty much the only time you'll ever see Streisand in a state of defeat - even Garland, no slouch herself in the belting department, ultimately stands aside in the face of Hurricane Ethel.

Supposedly Garland took Streisand aside and told her "Don't let them do to you what they did to me." If it's true, then Streisand took the advice to heart and followed it closely, if perhaps a bit too emphatically sometimes.

Nice post, Harold. Glad you could break self-absorption long enough to share with us.

I'm watching it now-she just sang,"Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered" and "What is this thing called love". She was wonderful. Now's she's doing a duel of, "Happy days are here again" with Judy. They both complimented each other-neither tried to outshine the other-very refreshing.
