Thanks to YouTube, I just learned that the odd Monkees song "Gonna Buy Me A Dog" was first seen on this show sometime in 1965, with Davy Jones playing along and singing from another room. (This was about one year before Jones became part of The Monkees.)

And thanks to tv.com, I have learned that the episode was "Moe Hill and the Mountains" from season three, the 87th episode overall, and that it first aired on Jan 7, 1966. Davy Jones was credited as David Jones. Here is the episode synopsis: Steve and his friends form a rock band, and Katy becomes their manager.

"Davy" was also billed as "David" on Thy Monkees as well, as he should have been..."Davy" is just plain dumb.
