Not Showing

On the Antenna TV Facebook page they said they were unable to air this or Ford Playhouse because the studio was unable to digitize the original prints. Whats up with that?

reply

Sony is too cheap to spend the money to remaster the show from film and was looking for the 30-year old tape transfers and couldn't find them. That's what's up.

reply

Sad so we may never see it again.

reply

Never say never. But Antenna is probably not paying much to buy these old shows and it would have to be worth it to Sony to go back and pay to re-transfer 101 shows from the original elements.

reply

Yep. Antenna doesn't want to pay for it, and the only way Sony would undertake the expense would be if they thought they could leverage the costs with a DVD release. And this is such a forgotten show that I don't think that will happen.

reply

17 year old Barbara Hershey?

I'd buy it.

reply

Hershey also played Ellen, one of Gidget's friends on that 1965-66 abc/Screen Gems series. Sony has paid to remaster and in some cases colorize old series. I would purchase Hawk (1966) and The Second Hundred Years (1967-68) if they came to DVD.
