Let your imagination run wild.
What if this animated reconstruction that is coming out is actually a big ruse? The animation produced is meant to fool us. In fact, Power Of The Daleks has been found and those episodes are what is actually coming out in November. No full animation episodes have really been produced.
Of course, it's not true, but imagine if it was.
Er, that would simply mean we'd have a recording of a hitherto unavailable Troughton serial. Which would be really nice, but to those of us who have seen the telesnaps and listened to the soundtrack+narration, I'm not sure what scope there is for imaginations to "run wild".
It's a bit like, "What if this Monopoly money was real money!"

I meant more along the lines of letting the imagination go wild in that the video release is actually the lost episodes having been found. That that is what is being released instead of the animated reconstructions. Because that really is letting the imagination go wild since it's almost impossible that the BBC would go to such lengths to preserve such a secret as to animate video specifically to fool people. If they really did have the episodes to release, they'd just advertise, "Hey, we found Power Of The Daleks! Get it today!"

I believe this whole line of thinking came from something I read where Anneke Wills had said something like she had recorded a commentary track for Power. Then, her agent made her stop talking. I don't know if there's any truth to that actually happening, but it's what started me thinking of the idea they had actually found all or part of Power. Then speculating the whole animation thing, letting my mind wander, was actually a ruse. But, the idea that some parts may have been found could also be "possible" and that only missing episodes have been animated.
shareI don't see that happening. The BBC has paid a fair bit for the animations and depending on who you speak to I think all four parts are in the can so not at this stage no. Would love that to be the case but...
