What about the other 89 episodes? English version?

As many might know, this original Astroboy series ran for 193 episodes in Japan with just the first 104 episodes having been dubbed into English.

I know some people are sensitive to dubbing saying that it deludes the original product, but this show is an example of how good a foreign show can remain intact with superb voice work (Watt, Owens, and Mack) and great writing (Fernandez, Owens, and Watt).

So what about those 89 episodes? I'd like to see a great team of voice artists and writers capture that original fun and excitement portrayed in the 60's series--using the same humor, passion, and not just "reading lines" (which I feel is where the 80's Astroboy falls a bit short compared to the original).

Anyone else have any thoughts?

IF YOU WANT TO DELUDE FROM THE ORIGINAL PRODUCT: GET YOUR OWN DAMN SHOW.

Does anyone have any constructive thoughts on the matter? I'm not here to start a message board war, I would just like to hear what others think about the idea of dubbing the additional episodes. I think it could be interesting at the very least...albeit, 40+ years overdue. :)

Sadly, the three voice actors from 1963's ASTROBOY, Billie Lou Watt, Ray Owens, and Gilbert Mack, are all deceased, but with some constructive voice casting and writing, who knows?

It wouldn't be the exact same, but if they retain the original innocent charm of the series, it could be done nicely.

years later i know, but i loved the original black'n'white cartoon from the early 60s. i agree with you that the other 89 eps should be dubbed in english much like the others to complete "that set" from 1963-1965.
there is plenty of talent out there to take on the task, and i'm not the only one that would purchase that particular DVD set when, and if they crank it out.

take care,
