Decades ago a laser disc set of the series was advertised. It supposedly included ALL the episodes, American and Japanese versions, on something like 50 discs and was delivered in a wood presentation box. The price was over $2000! At that price the production run must have been very low. Or was it even produced? Right Stuff, the people who have released the dvds of the American series don't mention the set. Has anybody ever seen it?
shareThe laserdisc set exists! It was issued in March 1990 in Japan. At the time of writing this reply (January 2014) there is a complete set of all 47 discs on offer thru the LaserDisc Database, complete with all original boxes and packaging - and it still costs $2000! Each disc has 4 episodes and the whole set has a whopping running time of 5,580 minutes! I don't know anything about audio options or subtitles and I can't imagine that Pioneer sold many copies - but they did sell at least one! (And you can see it in a photo supplied by the LaserDisc Database seller. I don't think he's had many offers yet!)
