Ignore the science and enjoy the story!

The science in Gorath is really, really bad, but the story is mostly good, and the effects were, well, effective, considering the year of production.

I watched the "walrus" version, and I don't think it added anything to the movie, except the kaiju demanded by the producers. An earthquake would have sufficed as an explanation for the damage. Poor Maguma woke up cranky because he was hot, had a little tantrum, and was quickly put back to 'sleep'. He wasn't really a player in the story at all.

Even if you ignore all the errors in hard science, the liberties taken with time and distance may make you dizzy.

Worth a watch!
